Mayhem's Critiques

For Vampire: The Masquerade Fans

It is a highly organized (increasingly rare) site with a cornucopia of informative essays and fact sheets about vampires As well as detailed information on Vampire Fiction, Film and Games. The site also has reviews of over 100 books dealing with vampires in one way or another, a database of over 120 vampire movies with the ability to submit your own reviews or link to an online purchase system. A long list of vampire-related links is also provided. Some other nice features are interviews with vampire authors, stories, and a unique Quiz to test your vampire knowledge!

Another thing that i liked about the site was the restrained use of advertising banners, one at the top and one at the bottom of the pages, whereas many pages on the internet are now stacking two and three banners at both the tops and bottoms of their pages. The site supports both Netscape and Internet Explorer and is a member of the Link Exchange.

Keep in mind that the site is at least partly commercial and is in association with Amazon.com, a HUGE online book and video store.. However, as a previous customer of Amazon.com I can attest to relatively fair prices, and an uncomparable selection of books, so the commercial aspects of this site are forgivable. The site provides their own ratings for movies ranging from You must not miss this movie down to REALLY Bad, don't waste your hard earned $$

To add to the above list of nice points is the fact that the site actively seeks new vampire-related material and welcomes author submission of stories on the Vampire Fiction page. :)

Overall this is a site worth checking out for die hard vampire fans, but may be only mildly entertaining for others.
