Mayhem's Critiques

The Official RPG Personals

Now I don't know how long this has been around or how successful it is, but it sure seems like a keen idea, someone has setup a page where roleplayers can submit their contact and game info so that they can get in touch with other roleplayers for gaming. Seems to be a mostly U.S.-based selection of gamers however.

The page has one very long page of people's email, location, game information, etc as well as its very own java-enabled chat room. (I can't see this being much of an advantage for MSN users who have access to MSN's chat servers, but for other internet users who don't have access to MSN's proprietary content, its a neat idea, although their browser must support java, therefore needing Netscape 3.0 or better or IE when IE feels like being java compliant that is )

The page is refreshingly clear of advertisement banners except for a box for the National Center for Missing Children at the very bottom of the page, which is obviously forgivable. Links to other sites are located on a separate page instead of stuck in all over the place like on many webpages. The text is easy to read on a fairly dark neutral background, although the page has no real graphics to speak of, but if you're looking for graphics you can go play a video game I suppose :~)

The Official RPG Personals

Obligatory Rating Thingy: 4 of 5 (2 for content and look, plus 2 more for keen idea and lack of advertising banners) cya!
